About Mcleodganj
McLeodganj, a suburb of Dharamshala, is the residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile. Named after Sir Donald Friell McLeod, a Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, it is often referred to as "Little Lhasa" or "Dhasa" due to its significant Tibetan population. The town offers a unique blend of Tibetan and Western influences, with Buddhist monasteries, meditation centers, and a vibrant community of international travelers. McLeodganj is also famous for its trekking routes, particularly the trek to Triund, which offers spectacular views of the Dhauladhar range. The town's cafes, serving a mix of Tibetan, Indian, and international cuisine, add to its cosmopolitan charm.
